Main Responsibilities:

  • Develops and design of database strategies, system monitoring and improving database performance including capacity planning.

  • Identifies database requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems.

  • Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications.

  • Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.

  • Provides MIS reports and data extracts by running queries/scripts when required

  • Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

  • Monitors database logs

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS Computer Science or other related course

  • At least 2 years experience as Database Administrator, Database Admin

  • Certification is an advantage (Oracle database 11g Admin Certified Professional)

  • MCSA SQL Server 2012

  • Knowledge of database design and theory, Oracle database, MS SQL server,

  • Knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and SQL tools, database performance tuning, database security, general understanding of storage technologies, NAS/SAN, recovery and handling failover of database

  • Good communication and analytical skills

  • Team-player, with attention to details and dependable
