Last May 16, First Metro Asset Management Inc. (FAMI)’s Head of Special Markets and Training Dr. Edwin B. Valeroso and Senior Relationship Manager Rienzie Biolena joined and conducted a financial literacy forum for around 700 Pasig Diocesan School System (PaDSS) members at Pasig Cathedral, canonically recognized as the Immaculate Conception Cathedral-Parish.
School members from the 11 parochial and catholic schools (Bicutan Parochial School, Colegio de Santa Ana, Escuela Catolica de San Sebastian, Holy Family Catholic School, Pasig Catholic College, Pateros Catholic School, Santa Rosa Catholic College, Santo Niño Parish School, Sto. Tomas De Villanueva Catholic School and Tipas Catholic School) of the Diocese of Pasig graced the event.
Dr. Valeroso gave an introduction on mutual funds and how it can be a great investment vehicle for teachers who prefer professionals to manage their portfolio full time based on the fund manager's extensive research and expertise. Dr. Valero also introduced the Monthly Investment Program (MIP), a facility that enables employees to invest as little as P1,000 per month in any of the FAMI fund products through salary deduction.
FMIC President Mr. Rabboni Francis Arjonillo provided insights on the importance of saving money for the Filipino household while FMSBC Research Team’s Royce Aguilar discussed stock trading for beginners.
The event was in coordination with First Metro Investment Corporation (FMIC) and First Metro Securities and Brokerage Corporation (FMSBC) to promote savings mobilization and advocate investment literacy among Filipinos.
